Fall in Florida is amazing, and WE ARE HERE FOR IT! And to be honest? It’s my favorite season! The hot weather is moving out, and the days are getting shorter! The Holidays are creeping in, and our closets are filled with sweaters, and boots! Most years I bust out the pumpkins and leaves early because I am so excited! So why not start gearing up for fall outfits. Here’s three things to keep in mind when starting to dress for the fall season!
4 TIPS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN DRESSING FOR THE FALL
SEASON:
1. Colors
COLORS: warmer tones like rust, burnt orange, mustard, camel, and acorn are great colors to wear when you’re seeing the leaves turn. Pair them with darker colored jeans and closed toes booties to polish this look off.
Earth Tones: Warm colors like rust, mustard, olive, burgundy, and burnt orange work well with fall foliage.
Neutrals: Cream, beige, and taupe can complement the natural background and make your photos timeless.
Pops of Color: Incorporate a pop of color like deep red or forest green to stand out against the autumn scenery.
2. Textures & Patterns
this is when cozy textures like cashmere, flannel, faux fur, knit cable and suede will make their debut! Balance them out with classic textures like denim to make sure you don’t over-do it.
Knits & Wool: Chunky knit sweaters and wool skirts add texture to your photos.
Plaid & Flannel: Classic fall patterns like plaid or flannel shirts can give your outfit a seasonal touch.
Layering Textures: Mix and match different textures like denim, knit, and leather for a rich, layered look.
3. Layers
now is the time to throw on that cardigan or shacket to create a beautifully layered look! And don’t forget that you can still get plenty of use out of your fave summer skirt or romper by throwing on some tights and boots to make it perfect for fall!
Jackets & Coats: Leather jackets, denim jackets, or cozy cardigans add depth and texture.
Scarves & Hats: Accessories like scarves, beanies, or wide-brimmed hats can enhance the fall look.
Boots: Ankle boots, knee-high boots, or even stylish sneakers can complete your outfit.
4. Clothing styles
Just because the season says fall, doesn’t mean the temperatures drop to the 50’s. Fall is a shoulder season, so it bridges that gap between warm and chilly. Many of our Florida fall days are still warm. This means you can add in all your summer staples {shorts, tanks, spaghetti straps, and T-shirts} but add them in with a fall vibe. That same spaghetti strap dress would look perfect with a cream cardigan or a jean jacket.
Fall is my all time favorite season, and a great time for senior and family photos! Especially if you can beat the heat, and enjoy the softer sunlight that starts to head our way by November!
