Yes. Between the trails, dunes, and still water at the dam and lake, it reads much more wild and natural than a typical beach session.

Guana Reserve charges a small parking fee, a few dollars per car, so we plan for that ahead of time. The reserve closes at sunset, which actually works in our favor for that last bit of golden light before we have to head out. Guana can work with a session in PVB or in Downtown St Augustine.

Timing & Getting Around

The Guana Dam and Lake give us still water instead of waves, a quieter, more reflective backdrop for a senior who wants something wilder and more natural than a manicured shoreline. This area also gives us some wildflowers, fallen trees, Sun filtered oak trees, and sunsets over the western sky.
