Its the time of year where we all start thinking HOLIDAY PHOTOS. And I get it, that card is important. But take it from a momma with a kid in college, its way more important to capture the ages and stages then it is to get the perfect card photo.
Kids, they are constantly changing, growing evolving, but so is our family and our own relationships with our kids. Once you get to the end stage and they are leaving your house {and y’all it happens SO FAST}, going back and looking at these collections of images are priceless! I am so lucky that I have so many moms I work with who know this! Family portraits are your children’s’ past, it will tell their story in the years to come, and trust me, they will ask. And, so much research shows that kids who see themselves on your walls feel more love and have more self confidence- how awesome is that!
This is one of my fave families, you may remember their session from last year {don’t worry, their halloween one is coming} and every year I see them I am amazed at the changes with the kids, and the parents! I started photographing them when they got married in 2012, and I have been lucky enough to be part of their journey since then!
I love Jess, and her love for her children. I love Jody and his patience with Jess and I, and all our ideas. But most of all, I love these kids, and how much FUN I have when I meet up with them! They each have such amazing little personalities, and I love watching them evolve {But I won’t lie, James and his serious face this year was the BEST}!
Y’all, I say it, but I don’t think I can say it enough, thank you for TRUSTING me with your families, and your memories. Thank you for inviting me into your homes and your lives, year after year, and allowing me to be a part of your story. Jess, I love you, and I love your family! Your beautiful love and life story, and your lives, well, I am just so LUCKY!! ❤️
Julian was amazing this year! I feel like he enjoyed himself to, and was so comfortable. Capturing him with the moon, it resonated with me, I felt like it was showing he has no walls, he can go as far as he wants!
